British Singer Attacks Taiwanese paparazzi , and police.
Flamboyant British singer Elton John, best known for performing the title song for Walt Disney’s "The Lion King" and for his multi million selling tribute album to the late Lady Diana Spencer, is reported to have launched an uncharacteristic verbal attack at Taiwanese press who mobbed him shortly after he disembarked from a private flight to Taiwan.
The British star, reportedly infuriated by intrusive photographers and television crews at Taiwan’s Chiang Kai Shek airport, called members of the press rude, vile pigs, and shouted "We'd love to get out of Taiwan if it's full of people like you. Pig! Pig!"

Sir Elton John later went on to apologize for his outburst, but said that Taiwanese press were unnecessarily rough and intrusive. Saying that he’d toured in over 60 countries, and never been treated so poorly by the media, Sir Elton John called his treatment at the hands of the media "Abuse", and said that he stood by the language that he had used.

A spokesperson for Sir Elton John decried the behavior of the press and denounced Taiwanese police authorities for doing little or nothing to help the beleaguered singer.
