During a heavily stage managed production covering the Democratic Party's national convention in Boston, CCTV, China's state broadcaster, has offered tacit support to Kerry's bid for the US presidency in upcoming elections.
Coming soon after a CCTV interview where independent candidate Ralph Nader, a notorious hardliner, attacked the Bush administration for its support of big business, CCTV managed to select a panel of invited guests to cover issues raised by the Democrats convention that included only Democrat supporters and neutral panelists. The panel did not include a single supporter of the Republican Party or of defendant George W. Bush, and it made no realistic effort to counter any pro Kerry statements or to defend the policies of the Bush Government

Little mention was made of Kerry's foreign policies, including any towards Sino-Taiwan issues and anti dumping claims made against China, but Kerry's anti war stance and desire to separate Republican and Democratic foreign policy is near certain to make a Kerry administration more agreeable to maintaining the One China policy and to moving away from President Bush's conflict based strategy for boosting flagging US markets and uncompetitive industries, making a victory for Kerry in the China's economic interest.
